How to use
Use Pepcid as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Take Pepcid by mouth with or without food.
Take Pepcid at least 2 hours before or after taking cephalosporins (eg, cephalexin), itraconazole, or ketoconazole.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Pepcid is an H2 (histamine) blocker. It reduces stomach acid by blocking one of the chemicals (histamine) that stimulates the release of acid into the stomach.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Pepcid , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Storage
Tablets and suspension should be stored at room temperature, 15-30C (59-86F). Injection should be stored between 2-8C (36-46F).
